Welcome to Montrose Auskick! So your child is keen to play? Fantastic!
We look forward to helping your child get the benefits of their involvement in our clinics either through learning new or developing existing skills, being active in the great environment we live in, making great friends and learning the importance of being in a group/team environment.
Montrose AusKick clinics take place on Saturday mornings, between 9.00am and 10.30am, at the Montrose Recreational Reserve Junior Oval, Mt Dandenong Tourist Road (behind the main club rooms).
All our coaches are fully accredited, and engage all children in learning and having fun. We work closely with the Montrose Football Club to provide a quality environment where young players can sequentially develop their skills through activities, games, match rules and conditions fitting their stage of learning and ability. We are One Club.
We are also proud to have an established development program for Girls only. Girls play AusKick for the exact same reasons boys do. To have fun, to play with their friends, get out and be active. Of course, participation in the Girls group is optional. If your daughter would prefer to stick with the regular mixed age group, she can do that too.
At Montrose, we have developed a program to suit your child’s ability:
– White Demons: An introductory level of Football, where the focus is on building their confidence, team building activities and having fun. Typically, these children are in Kinder.
– Red Demons: Your child’s confidence grows and we extend our focus onto more refined skills. Children in this group are typically in Prep.
– Blue Demons: As your child’s skill level increases, we begin to prepare your child for Junior Football at Montrose Football Club, in game day like practice matches, refining skill and technique. This group is typically from children in Grade 1-6
– Pink Demons: Specifically designed for girls, there is no tackling and has modified rules in an all inclusive atmosphere. This is a safe & terrific way to get young girls involved in footy. Girls will transition into the Pink Demons after they complete their White Demons training.
The Auskick program is aimed at children 5-12 years of age.
Children, who are 4 years of age, turning 5 in the football season, are eligible to play on the condition that a parent / guardian accompanies and assists their child at each session.
Your child must be 5 years of age, before 31st December to be eligible to play.
Our first clinic will be held early April 2023, with an action packed family fun day. Registrations are now open on the AFL Auskick website and search 3765 or MONTROSE.
