A good fight has been fought by the EFNL & all its Clubs and stakeholders to get our kids back playing footy, but unfortunately, this was a fight that was insurmountable.
The news we have been expecting has been confirmed this morning, the EFNL along with other major metropolitan leagues have cancelled all competitions for the 2021 season. The League will have a Board Meeting next week to finalise how the season will be concluded which we will share as soon as it’s received.
Whilst this is so disappointing for all our kids and their teams, particularly those that were finals bound, the Club is committed to holding an end of season celebration when permitted and we will communicate this when we have an understanding of what restrictions being eased will allow us to do and when.
On behalf of the Junior Committee of the Montrose Football Club, we would like to thank all our Players, Coaches, Team Officials, Families, Supporters and Sponsors for your unwavering support whilst we have tried to navigate the challenges presented to us all this year. We as the Montrose Football Club, but just as importantly the Montrose community will bounce back from this and the planning and preparation for the 2022 season is well underway, we can’t wait for it to begin!
Take care and look after each other and please remember that the services of our Club Chaplain – Richard Paterson are on offer to anyone that needs a helping hand, text Richard on 0424 696 231 and he will give you a call as soon as possible.
