After the very disappointing announcement from the State Government this afternoon, we have received the below statement from the EFNL. Coaches have already had this communicated to them, as further information comes to hand we will share it accordingly:
Good Afternoon Clubs
Following the recent update from Daniel Andrews and the State Government today, Metropolitan Melbourne has been placed back into a 6 week lockdown from 11.59pm on Wednesday 8th July.
Its extremely disappointing but unfortunately that means that all club sanctioned training must cease immediately for all Senior and Junior Clubs.
The League will decipher the detail of the information and provide a further update in the coming days. As it stands its not looking good for any football (training or matches) to be played across our League or any League in Victoria in 2020.
Please cancel all club sanctioned training and ensure that you are adhering to the new restrictions. We understand we will have 1000’s of devastated players, but this is a public health issue and one that is outside of our control.
